Irish tales to delight young and old. Includes beautiful Irish airs on pennywhistle and fiddle and rousing sing alongs. Group Size: No maximum as long as all can see and hear me Program Length: 45 minutes - 1 hour
My Bad Bad Dog and other neighbors --Growing Up in NYC

Audience: 8 and up
A program of personal stories from my new CD--My Bad Bad Dog a. Culminating in a short workshop to help participants find and tell their stories. Includes a copy of my new CD "In the Borough" Growing up in Staten Island in the 60s. Program Length: 45 minutes - 1 hour
Stories from the Neighbors
Audience: 4-12 years old and adults too
Folk tales from all over the world. A program may include an introduction to my neighbors and the books about them from Lerner Publications, Everybody Cooks Rice , etc... My interactive storytelling style has the audience making sound effects, singing, chanting and clapping along. Rise up and Tell your Stories!
Audience: Adult or young adult workshops
Knowing and telling your stories to your children or grandchildren is possibly one of the most important things one can do. I will model telling personal stories and using story prompts, participants will find a story of their own to tell and get some experience in telling stories effectively. Audience: 8 years and up
Learn about the tools of a storyteller by using them. Story and theater exercises help us explore our natural story gifts and we will create the images and words of our own adventures to tell.

Wit, Wisdom and Garlic ~ Italian Folktales
Audience: 6 and up
Folk tales from Italy are zesty and flavorful and they contain hard earned "peasant" wisdom. These are my favorites many of which are recorded on my spoken word CD. "Stories Nobody Told Me." Group Size: No maximum as long as all can see and hear me Program Length: 45 minutes
Mary Read, retired pirate
Audience: 6 years and up
Willing to sign on as Mary Read, retired pirate, at your events - historical, piratical or otherwise. Salt, Sea and Piracy with Mary Read Dressed as pirate Mary Read, Norah Dooley, tells tales about the people who sailed in the Golden Age of Piracy, and the wonders of the 7 seas. In the early 1700s Mary Read disguised herself as a sailor to survive in the harsh world and became a pirate by accident when her ship was captured by Captain "Calico Jack" Rackham. Norah tells Mary's story in the first person brandishing pistol and sword and sharing secrets and multicultural stories from her sea bag. Some of her favorites are Maury O'Connor and the Mermaid (Ireland), Arion and the Dolphins (Greek), Ocean Born Mary (New England legend), Mitsue and the Pirates (Japan). Norah plays pennywhistle and leads songs and sea chanties, including : John Kanaka, The Mermaid, & Run the Riggin' Again. While in port, Mary provides 45 minutes to an hour, of historically accurate and engaging fun for families with children.
